One of the earlier prophets who brought the word of HAVE to our human, everyday level was Parmenides. He brought us the basic and fundamental truth, the truth root of all other truths, and he did that really adjusting to the level of reason.
According Parmenides himself says, a winged mare carried him in a car driven by helíades at the gates that separate the day from the night and there, once crossed, was conducted in the presence of the goddess of justice. Not with little effort, got the God revealed the truth.
This is not, of course, an accurate account of what our first profeta experimentó al alcanzar la verdad que luego nos transmitió. Pero si, por el contrario, nos acercamos a la realidad excesivamente de cerca, no understand fractions and bias more than that, independently of each other, tell us nothing at all to which they belong. Would not know what surrounds us as we know if our vision was as thorough as a microscope, we would not see things around us, only atoms, cells and particles.
Well, Parmenides left the world "mystically" to, from above, covered their eyes with veils, in the kingdom of the night, unable to see the particulars of the reality that our bodies belong and thus receive daily from the lips of the goddess (the Goddess "Reason") the basic revelation of our Bible: IT IS.
But the goddess not only told the truth, but also offered the false knowledge that most mortals could not believe demonstrate its truth. He offered "both the imperturbable heart of persuasive truth as the opinions of mortals in which there is no true belief" (B2. vv. 3-6)
When, from the perspective of ordinary mortals that we see the Indeed, we believe that everything changes, everything is multiple, that what exists today will tomorrow, that nothing remains. But this is only a fragment of reality, seemingly the result of the partial observation of the real. Viewed from the broader perspective to which we can reach Parmenides we realize that "erring mortals who know nothing, two-headed, because the disability in their breasts directs his mind wandering. Are drawn, deaf and blind at once, stunned, a mindless horde that considers the self and not be the same and not the same "(B6. vv. 4-9)
And the goddess recommends our prophet "You, however, this avenue of research away the thought and the inveterate habit not force you to direct the eye in this way without a goal, ear buzzing and language" (B7, vv. 2-5)
What, then, the revelation that the goddess "Reason" makes our teacher and predecessor? That is, the reality is, that may not be all that is what is forever. We clarify the genesis that was exposed at the beginning of our Bible. And he does it with these words:
"Only a one-way story remains: it is. In it there are many signs, that is also being innately timeless, total, unique, immovable and complete. " (B8. vv. 1-4)
remember our words, the Self, the Being, one is multiple. The latter is in the background for Parmenides because he wants is to emphasize the unity of being, in its absolute independence of every entity creator or destroyer may, indeed, in the impossibility of the existence of any outside entity be-Haber said. Well, what could be out of there, that is, outside the Have? What could be outside the Self, of what it is?
Therefore, any extra-mundane God could (as the goddess of "reason" would not) be out of the Haber all-encompassing, and therefore any God we owe our very existence, our very being, our us in the world.
PARMENIDES DIXIT.
